“MBN” is a grantee of the US State Department’s Broadcasting Board of Governors. The three Alhurra network “streams provide round-the-clock news and entertainment programming to the Middle East and Europe originating from a digital, tapeless facility in Springfield Virginia.

We began providing engineering and operational consulting services to MBN from the inception of the service in 2003. These contributions led to TEAM’s engagement to staff and manage the technical production employees who support the operation. Once retained in this capacity, we recruited, hired and trained these employees within a two month timeframe to meet the network’s aggressive launch date.

In 1996, CNN engaged TEAM to provide technical staff to support their Washington Bureau. We hired and managed a staff of 85. Our performance in Washington eventually led to an invitation to manage the CNN New York bureau with 125 technical staff consisting of field crews, studio crews, engineers and Master Control technicians.

Our engagements in Washington and New York for this worldwide news agency required us to begin service while also providing uninterrupted, high-quality operations. The CNN New York Bureau Chief Karen Curry told us, “If I knew the transition would be so painless, I would have made the change long ago.”

The Boeing Company

Boeing engaged us to help them make their Day-of-Launch communications best in the industry. A key audience survey of our design helped inform the development of live broadcast coverage of Boeing’s rocket launches from Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg AFB, produced by TEAM. We also initiated a complete engineering evaluation of the existing facilities infrastructure for capturing and transmitting video and audio signals at relevant sites at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. This led to a design that included equipment replacement, augmentation, and modification, for subsequent broadcasts. Our staff Engineer-in-Charge (EIC) was on hand for every telecast to monitor performance. When Boeing built a new Operations Center for its Delta IV rocket, TEAM engineers were called on to design the audio-video infrastructure in that facility.
